Samsung Galaxy A23 5G spotted at Geekbench with Snapdragon 695

The Samsung Galaxy A23 launched in March, a 4G phone powered by the Snapdragon 680. A couple of months later the first clues of a 5G model appeared and now the phone has been spotted at Geekbench. Top 10 trending phones of week 25

The Poco F4 thus had to once again settle for the silver medal, while the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra dropped to third. vivo 50W Wireless Flash Charger test

The smartphone “charging wars” are predominantly fought on the wired front where some companies already passed the 100W thresh hold giving you a full 0-100% charge in around or even under 20 minutes. But every now and then the battle is carried over on the wireless front where makers are also reaching speeds that were unthinkable a couple of years ago. Week 25 in review: Poco F4 and X4 GT are official

Welcome to the end of week number 25. Let's take a look back. Samsung has apparently accumulated some 50 million unsold smartphones. The A-series is reportedly mostly to blame, failing to meet its sales targets for one reason or another. 50 million is around 18% of Samsung's planned shipment target this year, which isn't good at all. Samsung made around 20 million units per month early this year, but that dropped to around 10 million in May. This could be a reaction to having too many units stuck in inventory and seeing low demand. The lower demand has also made Samsung cut its component... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://bit.ly/3yoeaTe

Flashback: a decade of iPhone camera tech

Apple’s iPhones have the reputation as having great cameras. For large parts of their history they have been up there with the best, in fact. That started with the iPhone 4 in 2010 (cameras on the original, 3G and 3GS felt more like an afterthought). We’ve already covered this in a Flashback, so we won’t go back quite that far today. Instead, we will look at the last 10 generations of iPhone starting in 2012 with the iPhone 5. If you skim the charts below you will see there isn’t much progress on the resolution front. Weekly poll: how much storage do you use on your phone? Are microSD slots still important?

We often see people complaining that a newly announced phone does not have a microSD slot. This week we wanted to find out how many of you will only buy a phone that has a microSD slot and how much storage you use in general. Smartphone storage seems to have hit a wall at 1TB. Quite a few phones released this year have versions with 512GB built-in memory. Most of them are flagships, but there are some mid-rangers too. Weekly poll results: the Realme GT Neo 3T struggles to attract fans

Last week’s poll shows that the Realme GT Neo 3T is not viable at its regular price of €430 (and the temporary €30 discount isn’t enough). What went wrong? Well, you can have the same hardware for less money and you don’t even need to spend much time looking – Realme’s own GT Neo2 is basically the same phone, save for the charging (65W vs. 80W) and camera (the Neo2 actually has a slightly bigger sensor). And it can be yours for €330, €100 less than the 3T. The 3T just felt outdated to some commenters. The Snapdragon 870 is a fine, efficient chipset, but is quite old now and doesn’t look... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://bit.ly/3OluFEA

The first custom Apple chipset, the Apple A4, launched in 2010 with the original iPad and was also featured in the iPhone 4 a few months later. The A4 was manufactured by Samsung and used an enhanced Cortex-A8 CPU core dubbed “Hummingbird”. Hummingbird was co-developed by Samsung and Intrinsity and was announced in 2009 as “the world’s faster ARM Cortex-A8 processor”. Multiple customizations had to be made for the core to hit its 1GHz target. Apple acquired Intrinsity just months after it unveiled the iPad. And a couple of years before that it had acquired PA Semi. After those key... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://bit.ly/3mZrirf

Google released the June 2022 software update last week for 10 Pixel smartphones - from 3a to 6 Pro - which bumped up the Android security patch level on all smartphones except the Pixel 3a and 3a XL to June 2022.
